UPDATE........................
I have been taking a small break from sewing at the moment with it being xmas and all but I will have a bunch of new stocks added to my stores somewhere around the start of february 2009!
All stock from my website and my store at the cloth pad shop has been discounted until the end of January! Come and get it while its hot!

Knitting project - pattern coming soon

Busy at work on the knitting front I am in the process of designing a new baby singlet pattern in a gorgeous 4 ply yarn..........Made with ribbing on the bottom and around the middle it is sure to be a well fitted top. The pattern will be posted soon as well as a photo.................

Life is pretty busy around here, my little baby is growing in leaps and bounds, at only 7 months he's already crawling and sitting up by himself, lil cutie

I am in the opinion though that sometimes days just seem to all roll together and life just isn't as grand as it should be.....but there I'm not being very grateful am I
Me thinks I'm having a tired, discouraged day...the weather is overcast as well so maybe the world is having a dull day too

I have once again run out of bamboo fleece, duh and so am left waiting for it to arrive early next week though I have just added a whole bunch of new cloth pad stocks to the US side of the cloth pad shop and also to my website!

New designs...

.I have been working hard on updating my 'no wing' liner design.....I wanted something a little more uniform, producing the same results every time I made one and so here they are. I have 5 up for sale at the cloth pad shop and will be making up a whole stck for platinum panties this week....hopefully I'll have them done by tomorrow or Tuesday!

Bamboo velour, minky, tribal women........

All apart of my new pad range.........bright fushia velour and pale pink minky just steal the show I think. I am also excited as I'll be opening my 4th cloth pad store....this time at Wahmania. I will be making up some great liners and regulars for there aswell as occasionally stocking some nappies.

And so the GDUNH has started..........

and its sooo fun........its brilliant to see how many WAHMs are out there, and all the nappies I could shop all day, lol.
I have made up some delicious minky tops pads that are just so soft and comfy. So far the ones done are in pale pink which I think is so feminine. I will also put up some red ones to as soon as my fabric arrives. New stocks will be added to all my stores regularly throughout September.
Well I'm off to find more nappy icons.................... :)

Ozebaby stocking on weekend!

I have been sewing up a storm again and will have some great liner sets put up for sale in my Ozebaby store. I am hoping against hope that my bamboo fleece arrives before the weekend, I really have to get organized so I don't keep running out all the time but you know me, ever the scatterbrain, so I can also do up some regulars as well but if not I'll have a great range of liners!
I have been buying up big again in the fabric department too..........my lounge room is getting over run, lol but I just cant resist and I'm such an online shopaholic!

New Stocks added already.....

I have added a whole bunch of new stocks to all three cloth pad stores.......My stocking was scheduled for wednesday but I have had to bump it up to today.
I am also in the process of buying, well when aren't I really, lol, more fabric so more will be added as I get them done!

Just some notes.............

I am thinking my next big stocking since it need to be in time for the nappy hunt will probably be around the 27th August as that gives me ample time to deal with all the listing and making sure my mini hunt and icon run smoothly!
I will be stocking, finally, sets of liners called 'my first period packs'.....in a lovely range of pretty prints aswell as a whole heap more of my new designed liners and of course some more of my normal range!
I really wanted to make up some more nappies too to add to 'platinum babies' but I'll have to see how I go!

Hard at work......lol

And so I have been......I've made up 12 pads, my new liner designs, and have listed them between the two cloth pad shops( aussie and US sides) and platinum panties.
I've also been online shopping for some gorgeous flannel fabrics ready to make up some more nappies and pads. I think I will also make up another 'something special' nappy too.........I really enjoy adding unique touches to things!
My next pad stockings will be in time for the cloth nappy hunt so watch out then for a huge stack of new stock!
I've had some customs orders come through too which is lovely as I always like to design something to please....and so off i go to cut out some new pads!

A new liner design and my excitment...............

Oooohhh, excitemnet about what I hear you say........the nappy hunt is coming and I am just tickled pink to be a sponser this year. I just loved participating in the icon hunting last year so its great to be one of the 150 sponsers hiding the cute little diaper! woo hooo............... :)
I have also come up with a new liner design, I have two ready and on sale at the cloth pad shop and I'll be stocking some at Platinum Panties this weekend, it is a flat style with small wings and tested very comfy indeed.

'Nappy Stocks'

I have finally got on top of my bunch of cut out nappies and will be listing a bunch tomorrow. I also have the most gorgeous 'dark knight' print....could even say that nappy is a tribute to the late Heath Ledger!
I also finished a custom designed girls AIO nappy which has a cute butterfly and lace around the back.......superb even if I do say so myself, lol!

New Wetbag!

And here is my newly designed wet bag!
It is shaped to fit my pads and comfortably holds 4 or more. Each one made will be a one of a kind creation.......more are coming soon and this one goes up for sale at 7pm tonight!

Mini restockings............

Okay, I've decided to have a mini restocking of my three pad stores as well over the coming week.
I am working on some bamboo velour AIO's and some more 'season' themed pads for both stores at the cloth pad shop! Most should be up by around wednesday next week............

I'm a little behind I am as I did think I had a shipment of bamboo fleece coming for my cores and boosters but alas no.......only my scrumptious chocolate cake minky PUL came so I have to order some and hope it arrives in time for me to make up a bunch of nappies and at least put a dent in the huge pile of pads that I have cut out and ready to go!!!!!!

Nappy Stocking at Platinum Babies!

I am preparing for a nappy stocking at 'Platinum babies'.........I will be listing some gorgeous fitted nappies and AIO's on Sunday 10th August!
I will have some great prints available including...........kittens, love hearts, clouds, pawprints, smiley faces and lots more!

And I'm almost finished and ready to go!

I just have a few more pads to sew up today and then I'm ready to go....finally! Feels like I've been sewing non stop for ages, lol.
I have quite a bit of new fabric coming so I guess that will probably inspire me to make up some more throughout the month but other than that I will be taking a few weeks break to sew up some nappies instead. So far 'Platinum Panties' will have over 30 pads being listed on the first and my other two stores at the cloth pad shop will have the same combined between the two! I'm especially thrilled with my new oriental spring fabric....it has made some gorgeous looking pads let me tell you!

I also found some fantastic mermaid fabric which has also been made into pads!
And so I'm off to sew up a storm..............

I've been busy................

Super busy in fact!
I'm in preparation for two things.........one is a massive cloth pad stocking at my website, its going to be a big event on the 1st August and the other is an all stores theme stocking at the cloth pad shop for the entire month of August! The theme we all decided on was seasons...you know winter, summer etc
I'm quite excited about it actually as I have to think really hard about what I'm going to make as my interpretations. I have the most gorgeous sparkle fabric for winter but apart from that I'm still waiting for inspiration to strike!

New Store opened!

I have just opened another new store stocking my cloth menstrual pads! It is still at the CLOTH PAD SHOP but is featured on the US side which means all prices are in the USD and much more convenient for ladies shopping from over there!
I will be adding stocks to the site daily over the next week so I should have quite a range to choose from.......You can also purchase from either side aswell so if you wanted an item from the aussie side and the US side then just go ahead....its all processed thru checkout for you!
I have again been on a massive fabric buying spree.......lol yer I know I went on one last week but I just couldn't resist really what with all the flannels being on clearance!

Pink Panther nappy and another auction!

Here is the latest nappy added to 'Platinum Babies'.....a gorgeous candy pink nappy featuring the pink panther, now that takes you back, lol!
I have also listed another cloth pad auction with all proceeds going to the Chibobo Orphanage in Africa....it has some gorgeous pads including a waterproof one!

Chibobo Orphanage - Special auctions

An appeal is running for the Chibobo orphanage in Africa in which WAHM's and any one who wants to can donate money that goes directly to the place omitting all the silly middlemen in the middle and so.......................As part of my contribution I will be donating all of the proceeds from some cloth pad auctions that I will run at the Cloth Pad Shop and at Ozebaby. That's right all of the money will go straight to the appeal so if you would like to buy some pads and help some needy children at the same time please make a bid :)
The auctions will start tomorrow hopefully if I can get the pads made up tonight with no interruptions, lol and will run for 5 days only!

New Stock and another creation!

Well I've been very busy getting together my next theme for the cloth pad shop which will be BUGS, BUTTERFLIES and BIRDS.......All of my stock will be listed on Friday this week!
I am also nearly finished another cute little crocheted top for a girl. Done in multi colored yarn it looks a bit like candy :) I'll be posting a photo soon!

New overnight/heavy flow pads!

I have been busy designing and whipping up some great new pad designs!
The first is a regular L.....these pads are exactly like my regulars except they have a longer front and back for those that like that extra bit of security from leaks, still made in the same trim design though!
And the second new pads to come out are my overnight/heavy flow ones. These ones are longer at the front and have a flared back which makes them great for sleep time.
I am still in the process of finishing new stock but I have some up and listed at the CPS!
And announcing my new theme......Bugs, Butterflies and Birds! This theme will start on 18th July!

5th June

My sewing machine is back.......yay finally after a month wait! It was fixed and serviced and the fault was a seized motor ???? strange since I only had it 3 weeks but well its all better now :)
And the difference between it and the loan machine.....mine is sooooo quiet and I feel more in control of the needle!
I have still been busy, I have alot of new pads listed at the CPS and am also going to have another stocking of 'Platinum Panties' as well within the next few days.
I went on my huge shopping spree that I won at spotlight and basically bought $200 of fabric, well I did buy a few towels and some cute toys for bubba but mainly fabric! I couldn't resist all the lovely prints! It is all going to come in handy as I will be opening up an etsy store soon and will need a fair bit of stock to list.
Anyhow I'm busy as usual so off I go......................

I'm having a 5% off sale to make way for my next theme.......and that is BACK IN BLACK, pads in darker shades!
I was going to do a birds and butterflies theme but alas I was unable to locate enough fabric that I liked so it will have to wait another few weeks.
On a wonderful note I went to a quilters fabric market at spotlight the other night, it was really nice to spend some time without the children, made me feel like an adult, lol and guess who won the lucky door prize of $200 ***********ME. It is going to be such a boost for my fabric collection let me tell you! With all the people there I was shocked to win. WOW I'm still pinching myself!
I've also had a few customers coming in as well so the fates are definitely shining on me, praise them!

Next theme stocking!

I have thought up my next theme at the cloth pad shop. It will be announced soon. I have sold quite a few pads from my minky theme so I am sooooo pleased and do hope the ladies who bought them will be too!

Minky Theme!

Well my first theme listing went well.....my lovely minky creations are up for sale. I will have an end of theme sale too I think in preparation for the next theme. I probably, for my own sanity, should have my next theme thought of and half ready to go but I just can't decide on what to do. I have so many great fabrics I want to try out that it's hard to choose one type.......I'll need to put my thinking cap on and my butt into gear since it's coming up LOL
On to nappies, I've been creating some fitted nappies that will be up for sale soon, probably on ozebaby!

Themes!

Well I thought I might add something different to my store at the cloth pad shop and set up my items in themes......running a theme for two weeks at a time or basically 2 a month!
I get bored quite easily so this will be a way of adding some excitement to my sewing and the shop.
My first theme will be MINKY, which is a delightfully velvet soft fabric that comes in a myriad of designs and colors!

Friday the 13th!

A great day for me.....black is one of my favorite colors and 13 is my 'very lucky' favorite number! I'm serious, lol. I was planning on doing a bit of conjuring but I won't have time tonight as I've a few other things I need to do and plus lil man 1yr old wouldn't go to sleep before 8.30......hmm.
I've been shopping, couldn't resist what with all the sellers restocking their stores tonight! The cloth pad shop is just overflowing with gorgeous pads.
I got the nicest black pirate menstrual pad, I sat there looking at it for half hour before I finally gave in and snapped one up....and so my stash expands!
Talking of pads I need to get a move on with making up some more cloth pads for my stores. I have some gorgeous minky (just the softest material ever) coming and also some more PUL which I might use for backing, though I cant remember if its printed or not!
I also have bamboo velour on hand now so that will be used for tops and bottoms.

More stocks and whateva...............

My new pad sets are now live (at the cloth pad shop).....I wonder how they will be received.
I have also added a few more stocks of cloth pads and sets to my website 'Platinum Panties'.

Actually, thinking about cloth menstrual pads I was talking to my hubby about the comparison of cloth to disposables for him and he commented on the smell of the plastic disposable pads.......I had never realized they had a smell, hmm maybe I'm just ignorant or I've been using them so long (I got my period at 11) that I'm immune but since he said it I had to go have a whiff, lol, and found it to be quite true and he also went as far as to say that he has had friends and workmates (they refused to go near that supermarket isle because of it) say the same thing to him and it's easy to tell when a women is at that time because of it.......wow really??? I was quite taken aback and was like "well why do you think men don't say something to us women" and he said it's because they never thought there was an alternative to plastic pads and since its a necessity what could they say?
As a last thought all I can say now is I'm really glad I use cloth. Hubby is also much more pleased and glad that I also feel more empowered for choosing a nicer, more stylish and NON SMELLING alternative!

I am making up a few more nappy covers tonight in a gorgeous multi-colored puzzle piece print fleece!
Next on my list is fitted cloth nappies, I am a user of cloth and just can't say enough about how much better they are to use than disposables.
Better for the environment, better on your pocket, better on baby's skin and much better for color and style.
So look out for them!
And by the way I'm still waiting for my hemp fleece order :$

Minky nappy cover!

An extremely soft nappy cover in a tiny size to fit those early arrivals or tiny newborns. I just love this material and the up raised dots formed on the surface.
I used to knit and crochet alot for various hospitals and so I'll be also able to make some up for them as well. In my experience it really helps the parents to have something that actually fits their baby at such a trying and stressful time!

Fleece nappy covers!

Here is two of my fleece nappy covers currently in stock at 'Platinum Babies'!
Polar fleece is a wonderful fabric for making cloth nappy covers as it is water resistant and breathable aswell as being good at drawing the moisture away from baby's skin so it stays nice and dry. Made by my own pattern in a simple design with elasticated legs they fit snugly and feature a high back. I have trialled them with my own sons and found them brilliant!
They are both size small and depending on the child fit 0-4 months! I have multiple snap settings so they can also be fully adjusted at the waist.
Medium and large covers coming soon...................
I am also perfecting a premmie sizing, perfect for use with the smallest little treasure! I am doing up my prototype today so fingers crossed it works, lol.

New item!

Here is my latest addition to my 'Platinum Babies' shop! A gorgeous green floppy hat in really soft acrylic yarn. I just had to add the three white sparkle flowers!!!!

A little behind..........

Well as my household found out quite quickly on the weekend ( a lot of yelling, cursing and frustration later) my sewing machine packed it in and this is only after having it a few weeks. Before you ask......no, it wasn't my fault :) the motor had completely gone! I did take it back to spotlight, who are sending it back to the manufacturer to be fixed or whatever, and guess what they did???? Offered me a backup machine until mine comes back. Yay for me except that it is such a frustrating machine to work with, lol. It was an unexpected gesture on their behalf, I am always impressed with their service though.....I LOVE SPOTLIGHT!!!!!
To continue my ramblings, all this puts me behind in my pad making. I was hoping to get some AIO and regular days pads done but that doesn't look to be happening any time soon :(
Despite waiting all week for the post my shipment of hemp fleece is naught to arrive either so I guess even if i had my machine it wouldn't make too much a difference anyway!

Up and running now is the 'Platinum Panties' website, yay. It is yet to be fully stocked but I hope to have that done by early next week.

I'm really proud of how the site turned out and have to thank my delightful hubby for most of the work!!! I will still have a full stocked store at the cloth pad shop too so plenty of pads to go around, lol. Of course there are still alot of things that need to be done yet, our links and page connections etc but the shop part is up and running.

About Cloth Menstrual Pads!

A lovely comment was left on my blog yesterday (thank you Karen) that has prompted me to write a short blurb about cloth pad general information. It never occurred to me that they wouldn't come across as a reusable product!

So lets get to some cloth menstrual pad facts:

• Environmentally friendly - My cloth pads are able to be used over and over again. With a sizable stash many women find their pads last for many years.

• Machine Washable - I turn and topstitch my pads making them very durable.

• Easy Care - When used just soak in a container of cold water and when ready for a washing load just throw them into the machine. You can also wash them with your other items if you so desire.

• Money Saving - The initial layout for a stash of cloth pads might seem alot more expensive but in the long run you do save quite a bit of money.

• Convenient - You never again have to worry about that horrible dash to the shops as you realize your period has arrived and there's no pads left in the drawer.

• Special - What better way to celebrate your womanhood than to wear fabulous, comfortable fabrics and gorgeous prints.......Don't we all deserve something a little special!

It's almost the end of May...wow the year is just flying by now! I've been working hard on my websites, changing things etc and I think they are all coming up really well. The Platinum Panties website is my favorite though it is not yet online as we have to add a shopping cart to it! Just wait til you see it!!!!!
I've also been working on a 'something special' pad range which will see something special on each pad in the range. Here's a sneak preview :)


I hope to have a few pads up on the cloth pad shop site before the weekend but of course that will depend on time etc

On another note.....I was going thru my herb stockpile looking for the ingredients for a winter energy spell and it made me think about how hard it is to find witch/magic etc themed fabrics. Why is that?
I have literally searched everywhere, IRL and online and have yet to find any that aren't either hideous or cartoon fairy type. I remember years back that I was able to find a few cotton prints at spotlight but not anymore. I was talking to hubby about it and he thinks I was able to get some back then due to the popularity of 'Harry Potter' and the like but that isn't helping me now :(
I'd really like to be able to incorporate a bit more 'me' into my cloth pads and other things so if anyone knows of a fabric seller with these types leave a comment, I'd be much obliged :)

I'm slowly building my cloth pad stash as I see pads I like.......I know how I feel at that time of the month so I look for pads with prints that empower me and express solid, fast moving energy! I bought one a few days back that has an aztec style horse print with gold glitter bits and purple shades and it just makes me think of the image of horses rushing out of the sea waves. I love it! I also like the colour green but not too many makers seem to use green. I have yet to find a pleasing green print I like to create with!

More website business!!!!!!!

So upon thinking about all of the items I'm involved in stocking we decided to put it all together under one name......kind of like a central page for all my outlets!
And so is born 'Platinum Angelz'.
At this central page you can access 'Platinum Babies' which stocks all of my baby and toddler items, 'Platinum Panties' which stocks my designer range of cloth menstrual pads, my 'Ozebaby' store which stocks a little of everything and my store at the 'Cloth Pad Shop' which stocks more of my cloth pads!
The platinum panties website is still under construction but everything is really starting to come together!

Silver Shimmer!

Here is my new silver shimmer long liner! The fabric is a black cotton with silver glitter floral prints over it.............just divine! This one goes live tonight at the cloth pad shop!

Diamond G liner Pics!!!

Today is Sunday......I've a short while before dinner and the inevitable night routine of my little treasures, who might I add, have been quite naughty and whingy today :), so I'll upload some pics of my new 'Diamond G' g-string liners! I made them specially for g-strings, hence the name but have found they also work quite well on normal underpants though it is a trim crotch style but hey, I prefer less bulk anyway!
I also uploaded a few more short liner pics, the fabric were just too good not to share :P and I just loooooove the turtle liner.....the pattern placement is perfect!

I am also uploading a new pic of my recent fabric buying.......For custom ordering of cloth pads especially which I offer through my website platinum babies.
I am hoping to get a few more pads made up this weekend and also want to get some more knits done! I've been so involved setting up my cloth pad shop etc that not much has been happening on my hook or needles. I did buy some lovely yarn recently though and thought it might make a cute beanie......kind of a red/yellow blend.

'Snap' says Mr Crocodile...........

Lol, no he doesn't......snap' says my new snaps machine! I am now able to add professional snaps to my cloth pads!!!!
And guess what????????? I just sold my very first cloth pad! Yay, woo hoo, yippeee! :) sorry but I'm just so excited and it was one of my favorite designs too, my flower beetle fabric!

I have opened my shop at the 'cloth pad shop' and am getting ready to go! Some more samples of what's in store are below and guess what..........?????? Hubby bought me a snap press machine so now some of my pads will have snap closures instead of velcro for those who prefer that! I will have quite alot of pads going live this weekend hopefully!
